INITIATIVES
A philosophy means nothing, unless it is translated into practice.
In consonance with our beliefs and philosophy, we have undertaken
several measures, which demonstrate "walking the talk".
Resourcing
Beginning with a structured Manpower plan our resourcing program
ensures that each position and each individual are perfectly matched.
Hiring the best people for the job means that we merge qualities
of the head (skills, experience), with those of the heart (emotional
I.Q., people skills), and character (integrity, team play, ethics).
This has meant hiring people as 'individuals' as opposed to viewing
them as 'candidates'.
Competency Maps
Each position has a well-crafted Competency Template, that defines
the competencies required for the job as Core, Leadership and Professional.
Core defines what as an organization, we look for in all individuals,
Leadership would include all the competencies that are absolutely
critical for the job and Professional would mean the functional
competencies demanded by the job. The template also defines the
minimum required level of proficiency against each competency. This
document refines the resourcing process by clearly stating what
is expected from the individual in delivering excellence.
Success
factors
A detailed job description for each position is also applied, which
apart from defining the 'person specification' also states what
are the success factors expected within a 2 year period and the
organizational interface of the role with external, as well as internal
partners. This strengthens the hiring process further. These documents
have been prepared with great care and deliberation, to enable the
candidate appreciate his/her role and perform unhesitatingly.
